Welcome to November, 2025

November is shaping up to be an interesting month at the Melcher-Dallas Public Library!
As many of you are aware, Lori will be taking some time off for a medical issue. She will be out of the library beginning on November 13th with a possible return date after December 3rd. During this time, the library hours may vary, so, you may want to call ahead and verify that the library is open. Deb will be doing her best, but filling Lori's shoes could be somewhat challenging...so, please be considerate, and realize this is a temporary situation. I'm sure we all wish Lori a speedy and successful recovery!
Craft Night: Craft & Chat night at the library, is still planned for November 19th, starting at 6 p.m.
Sign up for Energy Assistance: M-D Library, November 20th, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The library will be closed on the following dates:
November 11, 2025 in observance of Veteran's Day
November 27, 28, and 29, 2025 in observance of Thanksgiving

Iowa Adventure Pass is BACK in action!!
The Iowa Adventure Pass is relaunching thanks to the collaboration of libraries across the state, the Blank Park Zoo, and the Science Center of Iowa. This Iowa Adventure Pass allows library cardholders to check out free passes to family-friendly destinations.
If you are a Melcher-Dallas Library patron, and planning a day at the Blank Park Zoo and/or touring the Science Center of Iowa, the Friends of the Melcher-Dallas Public Library make it affordable, by funding the passes. (0ne use, per Adult library card, in a calendar year.)
How It Works:
Each pass offers free entry for two adults and two children (unless otherwise specified), and it’s just one more way your library connects you to new experiences.
This relaunch represents a renewed commitment to community partnerships, learning and exploration, so more Iowans can experience the wonders right in their backyard.
