Keeping You in the Know

Iowa Adventure Pass is BACK in action!!

The Iowa Adventure Pass is relaunching thanks to the collaboration of libraries across the state, the Blank Park Zoo, and the Science Center of Iowa. This Iowa Adventure Pass allows library cardholders to check out free passes to family-friendly destinations.

If you are a Melcher-Dallas Library patron, and planning a day at the Blank Park Zoo and/or touring the Science Center of Iowa, the Friends of the Melcher-Dallas Public Library make it affordable, by funding the passes.  (0nce per Adult library card in a calendar year.)

How It Works:

Each pass offers free entry for two adults and two children (unless otherwise specified), and it’s just one more way your library connects you to new experiences.

This relaunch represents a renewed commitment to community partnerships, learning and exploration, so more Iowans can experience the wonders right in their backyard.

Something musical is planned for the library, and hopes are high that it will be installed and dedicated during Coal Miner's Celebration 2025.

Melcher Dallas Notification/Alert System Launched

Posted on  by

For several months now, City Staff have been working to set up a Notification/Alert System to allow better communication with our residents.  This system is hosted by Everbridge.  Now, critical alerts about our water supply, community events, or other important information can be sent out quickly so everyone can stay informed.  We have set up a web page “Stay Informed with Alerts” with links that will allow you to sign up and learn more information about the Notifications and Alerts.  There was more information sent out with your water bill this month.  Please spread the word so your neighbors can stay informed as well.
