Welcome to March!

 March is Women's History Month.

Come Craft with Me!

We will have our March craft night on March 20, at 6 p.m.  The craft will be Faux Stained Glass Painting. Please, in order to have enough supplies on hand,  let me know if you are planning to attend.  Stop in or give me a call at 641-947-6700.  This craft is for adults only.  This is a free event, but donations are appreciated.  The donations will be used for purchasing more craft supplies.

A Note of Thanks!

We are glad so many are coming to our craft nights!  Thank you for coming out and spending your evening at the library!!

Melcher Dallas Notification/Alert System Launched

Posted on  by

For several months now, City Staff have been working to set up a Notification/Alert System to allow better communication with our residents.  This system is hosted by Everbridge.  Now, critical alerts about our water supply, community events, or other important information can be sent out quickly so everyone can stay informed.  We have set up a web page “Stay Informed with Alerts” with links that will allow you to sign up and learn more information about the Notifications and Alerts.  There will be more information sent out with your water bill this month.  Please spread the word so your neighbors can stay informed as well.

Marion County Sheriff's Office issued a burn ban for all of Marion County until further notice.

Lion's Club Bingo at the Community Center March 2nd.  Food starts at 5:30 with a cost of $7.00.  Bingo cards are .25 a card and the last game is played at about 7:50 p.m.

The Marion County Emergency Management Agency noted that the Melcher-Dallas Public Library is a 'warming center' during regular business hours.  A warming center is noted to be place where individuals can go temporarily  to get out of  periods of extreme temperatures and dangerous weather conditions.  Few and limited services are provided beyond what is normally available.  If you do want to take advantage of this service, please call (641-947-6700) ahead as there have been times that the weather has been so dangerous that the library has been closed.
